ecoegg South Africa started up in January 2017 with the goal of bringing the product to the South African market. Marcelle loved the fact that ecoegg’s products are all natural and are a long-lasting alternative to conventional washing product
Our hero product is the ecoegg Laundry Egg which is a complete replacement for laundry detergent and fabric conditioner but works without the use of harmful chemicals. Our Laundry Egg contains natural mineral pellets that naturally lift away dirt without fading colours or leaving chemical residue on clothing.
Perfect for even the most delicate of skins, both the ecoegg Laundry Egg and ecoegg Dryer Eggs have held Allergy UK’s ‘Allergy Friendly Product’ award since 2011. We are proud of our Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation which we were awarded in 2016.

The Ecoegg laundry egg contains a number of small pellets and it is these pellets that are the secret to the Ecoegg laundry egg’s cleaning power.
There are two types of cleaning pellets:
The black pellets are tourmaline ceramic pellets. These weaken the adhesive forces between the dirt and fabric.
The cream pellets are mineral pellets. These naturally ionize the oxygen molecules in the water which can then penetrate deep into the fabric lifting away the dirt and grime, without fading colors or damaging the fibers.
Our own scientific testing shows that these two types of pellets used together give the optimum cleaning results.
Tourmaline is a naturally occurring element, part of the silicate group. It occurs in many forms throughout nature and has a multitude of beneficial properties. In this case, its ability to assist in the laundry process is being utilized.
Using the tourmaline pellets alone would not give a satisfactory cleaning result, so the white mineral pellets assist in the process. These pellets naturally ionize the oxygen molecules in the water which then penetrate deep into the fabric, lifting away the dirt and grime.
